How to get the most from your sessions?

Keeping a progress journal
Some people find it helpful to start and maintain a private journal in addition to making notes after and between sessions. There is no particular format. Entries can be anything from a few bullet points or words to pages of writing, daily, weekly or occasionally.

Communicate if you need something different
If things are not progressing how you would like, your goals from our work change, or you would like us to review progress then please say. It is important to get the most from your sessions.

What is hypnotherapy like?
Most people find it interesting. It is a form of psychotherapy where suggestions are sent to your subconscious to encourage change of behaviour and habits. Hypnosis is about reaching a state of relaxation where the person is conscious but more susceptible to focused suggestions. All treatment is tailored to your needs.

Can you prescribe medication?
No. This is something that a GP or Psychiatrist would be able to do.

Do I need my G.P to refer me?
No you can refer yourself privately, however written permission is needed from a GP for consultations on medical issues (such as pain management, IBS etc.)

Do you offer home visits?
I am sorry but I am not able to do home visits. Sessions take place via zoom but I can provide face to face sessions for Canterbury based clients.

What to expect?

I did not receive a zoom appointment after booking - what happens next?– please check your email provider's spam folder as well, if there is still nothing please call me.

Initial session – a longer session to explore the issue in detail as well as learn more about you, your likes and dislikes

Treatment session – sessions start with getting comfortable and relaxed, followed by targeted suggestions encouraging your powerful subconscious towards change

What is the typical length of treatment, frequency & number of sessions?
Everyone is different and it depends on the issue. Sessions usually take place weekly and the number of sessions required will be mutually agreed depending on the issue and treatment plan.

Can I get my sessions on my private health insurance?
Usually, yes. I am accredited by organisations which are accepted by most health insurers. Please check with your medical insurer provider.

Can I get treatment with you on the NHS?
No this is not possible for private clients.
